Or... maybe that's a little too pretentious.
Anyway, this year I decided I'd celebrate Christmas with my watchers much in the same way *Lumdrop
celebrated Halloween with his. Now until December 14th, comment here to get your name on the list for this... generally average Secret Santa art exchange thing.
Doesn't have the same ring to it...
Anyway (want to see how many times I can start a paragraph with that?
), all you have to do is shoot this journal entry a little comment with a link to a character of yours. It can be an entirely original character of your own creation and volition, or it can be a fancharacter of some sort. Just make sure it isn't some S&M dominatrix or something and that it generally is safe for work.
Anyway (that's three!), once the 14th swings around, I'll close the list and mixup the names. I'll then contact everyone who is on the list and tell them who they got, along with the link to that reference image. They'll then have until Christmas day at 11:59 PM to finish drawing that character in a cute Christmas scene and let both me and the recipient know it's done.
So, to rehash the rules:
1. Comment here with your character you want drawn in a Yuletide fashion
2. On the 14th (next Saturday), I'll tell you whose character you'll be drawing.
3. It can be a simple sketch or something akin to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but make sure you have it done by Christmas, because seasonal convenience.
And now for some quick disclaimers:
Understand that commenting and thus signing up for this exchange means you have to participate in it as well. You can't just drop your character off and leave, because then someone who entered won't get a pretty drawring for Christmas.
Even with that last disclaimer in place, please understand that there may be some who will just up and ignore this obligation. People can be selfish and lazy sometimes, or things may just come up. If this happens to you, I'll see if I can't fill in the gap and have you something by New Year's Eve, but who knows what I'll be up to that week.
Anyway, have at it, and have fun! (four!)And if you want, you could post an entry in your journal about this thing that's going on so more people will get a little bit of Christmas cheer this holiday season, but it's completely up to you.
