And here we go, Page 2. Looks like our favorite Battle of the Bands is really starting to take a turn for the different here, huh?

So, some production notes. This was actually the first page I ever drew for Equestrian City. Waaaay back, this page had been commissioned out to another fella who, for one reason or another, decided I'd be much better suited at bringing this universe to life. So he sent me DarkMalcontent's contact info, DarkMalcontent sent me a single-page script, and I drew up a "test page" to sort of show the both of us what I'd be capable of. I was really kind of surprised when he got back to me and said, "Okay, so you want to make this the page?"

I think one of my favorite parts of this re-imagining is the slightly more threatening Siren forms. I remember the script called for a much more terrifying design, and I decided instead of starting from scratch, I'd take the designs already cooked up in the movies and -- using a technique I learned in high school art class, called "scales and spikes" -- monster-ed them up a little bit more, and I think they came out looking pretty intimidating.
