Okay so you guys may have noticed art's still been really slow around here.

Hecks, a lot of you probably thought I was dead.

Well, I'm not.

There's a couple of reasons I haven't been doing much uploading in the art department lately. One of them is I've got a not very big but still super cool and secret project that I'm working on right now and don't wanna spoil you for. The other, more boring reason is I've been super busy at work making money to pay my bills. Just recently picked up a third part-time job, and so far the three of them are playing (and paying) very nicely together.

But! The most important reason I've been slowing down in the art world is I've picked up a fun new project to work on. And that is...



do-do-do dee!

I've started doing a Pokémon let's play in Pokémon Fire Red. I've got two episodes up so far with the third going up sometime this week. So on the topic of Lapis Lazuli's outfit and whether its a full dress or a crop-top-skirt combo, I remembered seeing this behind-the-back shot of Lapis in the episode "Barn Mates"

and thinking, "Hey. That line they drew for her spine... crease... thing... if she was really wearing a crop top, surely that would continue down past the alleged bottom of her top, right? I mean it's not too much distance to cover, and I've seen one or two fanmade redraws where they - agreeing that it should be there if she was wearing a crop top - added it in.

So maybe it's an animation error, or maybe she really does have a blue band around the midsection of her dress that just so happens to match her skin. Who can tell at this point?

Also, has anyone else really thought about the fact that snakes don't have any arms? I mean like really took into consideration all the things they really can't do without them? I did, and I just wanted to cry.

Maybe.

Recently the company I've been working for for the past few months decided that they wanted to "move in a different direction" and gave me the slip - the pink slip, that is.

So as of that day, I'm currently unemployed. I'm gonna work on finding another job, but in the meantime, this raises an important question. With so much newfound free time on my hands, does this mean I'll start really cranking out the arts for you guys to enjoy? The answer is... maybe. It all depends if I can get myself off my fat duff and pull myself away from the world of casual games for long enough to actually work on something.

So guys, how's it going? How ya been? Didja miss me? I know I missed sharing my art with all of you fine folk.

For those new to the page, let me hit ya with a quick recap followed by an update of what's been going on for me. Let's see... way back when, I had my own computer laptop, but then it stopped working, so I didn't. Then I borrowed my mom's, but then I moved out and I couldn't. Then one day I found my brother's old laptop. He said if I could get it running, I could use it til he wanted it back. I did get it running, and I did use it until he wanted it back. It's been about... four months since he said, "Hey, gimme my laptop back," and I've been without a computer for that whole time. Then during spring break this year, one of my very amazing real life friends donated to me a desktop computer he built out of spare parts. Now he says it's no powerhouse, but I've been using it for... what, three weeks now? And I've had no complaints to file in regards to performance. Heck, I've been able to even run some Steam games on near-to-highest graphics with no lag whatsoever, and that's just fine by me.

The main thrust of all of that is regardless of how it does with gaming, the fact is this new box is just perfect for doing my arts. So once again, you guys can finally expect to see new deviations pop up in my gallery! I'm gonna upload one thing today, and then I'm shooting for... hmm... let's say Sunday or Monday to upload the next thing.

Let's get this art machine cranking out cartoons again! Who's with me?
