(that's supposed to be a quirky pronunciation of the word "Hiatus". Try it out! )
Anwyay, yeah. Hi, Guys. How are things with you and stuff? Good?
Good.
So, yeah. Hiatus. I... kind of need to take one.
For one, I've been working on some commission jobs for a guy who is totally awesome. It's something that involves comics and superheroes and the Equestria Girls universe. I've got one thing uploaded that's related to the project at hand, and another thing that I should be uploading quite soon. Keep your eyes out for that! Besides those two things, I also have a few other things I've done for him, and they'll see release into my gallery all in due time.
Shameless plugging aside though, the second reason I need a hiatus is I have a really bad habit of starting up hundreds of side-projects to fiddle around with when I don't feel like working on the main stuff, and with my new job, I have 24 hours solely dedicated to working on all of them. WITHIN THE SPAN OF JUST TWO NIGHTS! Needless to say, I've had my nose to the creative grindstone pretty hardcore for the last... oh... three months now? Because when I wasn't working on these things at work, I'd be at home late at night -- so as not to disrupt my sleep schedule -- with not a lot else to do but CONTINUE WORKING ON CREATING THINGS.
Suffice it to say, burnout happened, and I got to the point where my brain would shut down at the mere thought of, hey, I could work on finishing this thing... That's when I decided it was probably time for a vacation.
So I'll be out doing my darnedest not to create anything new for... oh... the next two weeks, say? In that time, I'll try to refill my creative cup with all kinds of lovely juices, and then I'll be ready to get back into it.
In the meantime, I got one or two things I can upload, so the wait won't be too terribly excruciating on ya. And I'll still respond to comments and notes because I check my devART EVERY. DAY. And then, when I get back... well... I suppose I'll start having more art to give ya.
Later, guys.

"But it's been [however many] months since you said you were back, and in that time, you haven't uploaded a lot."Yeah, I know. Activity in my gallery has been slow as far as bigger projects go, and there's two major reasons for that.

A Wild Journal Entry Has Appeared!
Okay so you guys may have noticed art's still been really slow around here.
Hecks, a lot of you probably thought I was dead.
Well, I'm not.
There's a couple of reasons I haven't been doing much uploading in the art department lately. One of them is I've got a not very big but still super cool and secret project that I'm working on right now and don't wanna spoil you for. ;) The other, more boring reason is I've been super busy at work making money to pay my bills. Just recently picked up a third part-time job, and so far the three of them are playing (and paying) very nicely together.
But! The most important reason I've been slowing down
Cartoon Canon and Other Asinine Things
So on the topic of Lapis Lazuli's outfit and whether its a full dress or a crop-top-skirt combo, I remembered seeing this behind-the-back shot of Lapis in the episode "Barn Mates"
and thinking, "Hey. That line they drew for her spine... crease... thing... if she was really wearing a crop top, surely that would continue down past the alleged bottom of her top, right? I mean it's not too much distance to cover, and I've seen one or two fanmade redraws where they - agreeing that it should be there if she was wearing a crop top - added it in.
So maybe it's an animation error, or maybe she really does have a blue band around the midsection of he
More free time, more art?
Maybe.
Recently the company I've been working for for the past few months decided that they wanted to "move in a different direction" and gave me the slip - the pink slip, that is.
So as of that day, I'm currently unemployed. I'm gonna work on finding another job, but in the meantime, this raises an important question. With so much newfound free time on my hands, does this mean I'll start really cranking out the arts for you guys to enjoy? The answer is... maybe. It all depends if I can get myself off my fat duff and pull myself away from the world of casual games for long enough to actually work on something. :XD:
So Now I've Taken Up Song Parodies as a Hobby
Got my hands on a copy of Vocaloid V4 a while back, and I figured what was the best way I could use it?
Why, to make song parodies of course!
So dear watcher, have you ever wanted to hear Crypton-Vocaloid Hatsune Miku sing a parody of Maroon 5's 'Payphone' in which she's really hungry and also kind of a selfish jerk?
WELL, HAVE I GOT THE VIDEO FOR YOU?
Note that I made everything but the backing track.
